Excelcia Music Publishing is proud to partner with FBA to provide new musical pieces for the sight reading portion of FBA’s Music Performance Assessment.  The official 2023 MPA sight reading selections are listed below for each classification. These pieces work perfectly for practicing sight reading with your ensemble when preparing for future MPAs. Each link will bring you to a listing of all pieces in the Excelcia Music Publishing catalog that follow the same MPA content limits.  

The FBA’s recently-developed sight reading process aims to make the assessment more equitable for all bands in Florida.  In partnership with the FBA Sight Reading Music Committee, Excelcia Music Publishing helped to create a new rubric for each of the sight reading difficulty levels so that bands are playing pieces at the appropriate level, and, because the pieces are brand new each year, no director will know or see the pieces prior to sight reading at MPA.
