Duncan Miano Wambugu

Dr. Duncan Miano Wambugu is a Lecturer in the Department of Music and Dance at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya where he teaches Conducting, Vocal and Keyboard Skills, Music Performance & Music Education. He also serves as Organist/Choir Director at St Andrews’ Presbyterian Church, Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Organ Performance) from Augustana University College, Canada, Master of Music (Choral Conducting) from the University of Alberta, Canada and PhD (Music Education) from University of Florida, USA. His research and performance interests include music education, African art music, music performance (vocal and instrumental) on which he has written and presented several papers at conferences and workshops locally and internationally. Duncan is a Tenor soloist, Pianist, Organist, Clinician, Adjudicator, Music Educator and Conductor/Music Director. He has performed regularly as Conductor and Soloist with the Nairobi Music Society, Nairobi Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Kenya. Duncan is the Music Director of Safaricom Youth Orchestra and a Trustee for Art of Music Foundation.
