Lakeland, Florida (March 23, 2022) – Excelcia Music Publishing is thrilled to announce the addition of legendary writer Derric Johnson’s most beloved and greatest works to its catalog with the upcoming launch of the Derric Johnson Choral Series.  Known worldwide, Derric Johnson has written beloved a cappella works for his popular groups, The Re’Generation, as well as The Voices of Liberty which he formed in association with The Walt Disney Company.  With an inaugural release of 10 works in Spring of 2022, the Derric Johnson Choral Series will feature a significant number of Christmas songs as well as other recognizable and acclaimed works.

“Derric Johnson’s treatment of a cappella music defined a generation of singers and continues to live on and be celebrated today,” says Jamey Ray, Choral Music Editor for Excelcia Music Publishing.  ”I am thrilled to be working with Derric and can’t wait to see the Derric Johnson Choral Series catalog grow over the coming years.”

A prolific a cappella arranger and writer, Derric Johnson founded, directed and composed/arranged for the famed ensemble singing group, The Re’Generation, and then went on to arrange and produce the premiere a cappella stylists, Epcot Center’s The Voices of Liberty, as well as Disney’s most popular live show, The Christmas Candlelight Processional.  Over the years, countless individuals have performed Derric Johnson’s music in the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT Center.
