Program Notes
Although there are various spellings and meanings, one definition of Encendió means to light something or to be lit. After composing an energetic, slightly syncopated bass line, I quickly realized I wanted to compose a piece that captured the feel and sound of something being lit on fire or illuminated. I wanted to musically capture that effect from inception through to the full-blown musical blaze.
