If you’re ever in the city of New Orleans on a Sunday afternoon and see a group of festive dancers led by a Brass Band happily making its way down the street, chances are you’re seeing a SECOND LINE parade! With 19th-century origins as an extension of the jazz funeral, the second line consisted of dancers and enthusiastic participants who followed the band to celebrate the passing of a loved one into heavenly new life.
