A sequel to composer Drew Zaremba’s hit “Hey! Elephant.” Your students are going to love playing this tune. Get them into the feel of swinging harder and showcase their chops! The funkier the better!
Program Notes
Now the horns – one word: AT-TI-TUDE. Better to play something with the wrong type of sauce than to play with no sauce at all. Let the band have fun, don’t worry about making everything squeaky clean and have no personality. The ethos of the music is in the articulation and HOW it’s played, not the ultimate accuracy of the notes. Feel free to change any of the scoops/doits/falls/etc. as you see fit, as long as there is personality in the band.
