Dale Bloodworth

Dale Bloodworth (b. 1968), holds a Bachelor and Masters in Tuba Performance from Auburn University.  He studied composition under Dr. Randall Faust and Dr. John W. Tamblyn, and arranging with Dr. Johnnie Vinson.  Mr. Bloodworth served as band director with the award-winning Meek H.S. Band of Champions from 1994-1998.  Under his direction, the Meek band performed at the 1998 Alabama Music Educator’s Conference. He is currently Director of Bands at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama.  He has served there for 21 years.  Throughout his career, his bands have consistently earned superior ratings at state assessments and marching competitions.  Mr. Bloodworth has also served as an officer with the Alabama Bandmasters Association.  Mr Bloodworth served as principal tubist with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra from 2006 to 2014.  He performed many chamber programs and the Vaughn Williams Tuba Concerto in 2008.  He is an active arranger, drill writer, and a certified adjudicator in the state of Alabama.  His memberships include Phi Mu Alpha, and Alabama Bandmasters Association.  He is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA).  Mr. Bloodworth is married, has two beautiful daughters, and enjoys golf and fishing.
